Hot Buttons Make Cold Customers

Well, another election year is upon us and once again we must wade through the minefield of political posts on Facebook. As is usually the case, everyone's got an opinion ...

No one can tell you that you can't post your thoughts, opinions, memes and arguments for or against a particular candidate. As a Facebook user, you are limited only by Facebook's Terms of Service, and this is how it should be.

However, if you are an IMVU creator whose livelihood depends on attracting customers to your catalog, it might be best to think twice before engaging in political discussions on your IMVU Facebook page. In a perfect world, expressing your opinions in a public forum shouldn't have consequences for your business, but we don't live in a perfect world. Engaging in political debates and heated arguments over which candidate is better qualified, or most dishonest can often result in alienation, lost friendships and quite possibly lost customers.

Remember that not everyone who reads will comment.
